I grew up in a small, picturesque town in Michigan named Albion. With all of its quaint Midwestern charm, Albion is renowned for its crisp, meandering streams and as the place where Mother’s Day was first observed. But for me, it is the place I will always call home.
My writing journey began when my husband and I moved our young family to a rural town in Virginia. Unaware of the precious and pleasant riches that awaited me, I settled into my provincial life. After my eldest son won the regional Young Authors Competition at his school, it inspired me to enroll in a course of study at the Institute for Children’s Literature in Madison, Connecticut.
As my passion for writing grew, I started working at the Meherrin Regional Library in Southside, Virginia. And there, I discovered the most endearing children’s picture books and became lost in a world of young dreams.
Every day, God fills my life with wonder! I love rocks, trees, and quiet walks along the bay. And who knew there was a little girl inside who loved to tell stories?
Thank you for sharing my journey!
