I grew up in Albion, Michigan — a small, picturesque town with quaint Midwestern charm, crisp meandering streams, and the kind of quiet beauty that stays with you forever. It is the place I will always call home.
My writing journey began when my husband and I moved our young family to a rural town in Virginia. I settled into my provincial life, unaware of the precious riches that awaited me. When my eldest son won the regional Young Authors Competition at his school, something stirred inside me. Inspired by his achievement, I enrolled in a course of study at the Institute for Children's Literature in Madison, Connecticut — and my passion for writing was born.
That passion led me to the Meherrin Regional Library in Southside, Virginia, where I discovered the most endearing children's picture books and became lost in a world of young dreams. It was there I realized there was a little girl inside me who had always loved to tell stories.
Today I write for the children who see magic in everyday moments. I love rocks, trees, and quiet walks along the bay. Every day, God fills my life with wonder — and I hope my stories fill yours too.
